State Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Resources

General:
Arizona follows federal Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting requirements however, there are additional requirements under Arizona's Pollution Prevention laws.

State-Specific Rules:
Arizona facilities, in addition to federal form R requirements, must file a federal TRI form (even if they are outside of the federal requirements for SIC Code and number of employees) if:

  • They generate an average of 1,000 kilograms or more per month of hazardous waste in a calendar year, or
  • They generate an average of one kilogram(s) or more per month of acutely hazardous waste in a calendar year.
Arizona facilities are required to send their Toxic Chemical Inventory (TRI) Reports to the Arizona Emergency Response Commission (AZSERC) and to ADEQ under the state pollution prevention laws.
