Georgia Tech provides a broad range of safety and health services to organizations in Georgia and the Southeast through its Region IV OSHA Training Institute Education Center and OSHA 21D Consultation Program. They will help companies in the construction sector to prevent injuries due to falls, electrocutions, struck-by and against heavy equipment as well as reducing exposure to silica and lead.

    Georgia Dept. of Labor - Safety Engineering The Safety Engineering Division of the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) administers some of the laws relating to work conditions and employee safety. It conducts safety inspections under the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act and the state laws governing elevators, escalators, moving sidewalks, man lifts, dumbwaiters, and wheelchair lifts. The Safety Engineering Divison also runs Project Safe Georgia (PSG), which is a coalition of hundreds of business, government, and academic professionals volunteering to address the safety, health, environmental, and workers' compensation needs of all Georgia businesses, especially smaller ones who may lack internal resources.
